Biography
Born on July 12, 1920 in Zhemkonsky nasleg, now the Vilyui ulus of Yakutia, in a peasant family. Yakut .
In 1938 he graduated from the Vilyui Pedagogical School. He worked as a teacher Khampinskoy elementary school Vilyuysky district.
In the Red Army since June 1942 . In 1943 he graduated from the Rostov Artillery School. In the battles of World War II from December 1943.
The commander of a fire platoon of the 1073rd Army Anti-Artillery Fighter Regiment, Senior Lieutenant Nikolai Kondakov on January 25, 1945 while crossing the Oder River near the village of Dörn (now Dobzhen-Velky , Poland ), located five kilometers north-west of the Polish city of Opole , supporting units of the 173rd Guards Rifle Regiment, the first to ferry the guns of the platoon entrusted to it to the left bank and contributed to the seizure and expansion of the bridgehead . The gunner suppressed six machine-guns with direct fire and destroyed the Nazis before the platoon [1] .
In 1945, Senior Lieutenant N. A. Kondakov was transferred to the reserve. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1946 . He lived in Yakutsk. He worked as a teacher, journalist, chief editor of the Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Council of Ministers of the Yakut Autonomous SSR (1946-1979). He was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR [2] .
He died on July 11, 1979 .
Awards and titles
- By decree of the President of the USSR of May 5, 1990, "for courage and bravery shown during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," Senior Lieutenant Nikolai Alekseyevich Kondakov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

- The name of the Hero is carried by the Zhemkonsk Secondary School of Vilyuisk Ulus.
- In 2005, the name of Nikolai Kondakov was given to a large diamond mined at ALROSA [4] .
- In July 2009, in the town of Vilyuisk , a monument was opened to his fellow countrymen - the Heroes of the Soviet Union: N. A. Kondakov, A. A. Mironov , N. S. Stepanov [5] . Prior to this, on June 22, 1990, memorial plates were opened in honor of Heroes on Victory Square [6] .
- A separate monument was erected to the Hero in Vilyuisk.
