Length - 208 km, catchment area - 3870 km². Formed by the confluence of the rivers First and Third Gar. It flows through a taiga swampy area with many lakes. The current is slow, the course is meandering. Hydrological post since 1944 .
The village of Oktyabrsky Zeysky district is the only settlement in the river basin .

Etymology
The name of Slavic origin appeared as a result of numerous forest fires occurring in this area. Gar - a burnt forest, a part of a burnt forest [2] .
