The structure of the station is characteristic of many local stations of the New York subway: two side platforms, between which four paths pass. The two central paths are not equipped with platforms and are used by expresses A and D. The name of the station is on the walls in the form of mosaics and, in addition, on the columns. The station is decorated in blue tones.
Each platform has its own exit to the street: the entrance to the platform towards the Bronx is made through the entrances from the eastern corners of the intersection of 116th Street from 8th Avenue , towards Lower Manhattan - from the western. Thus, at the station for passengers there is no possibility of a free transition from one platform to another.
