125th Street (Eighth Avenue Line, Ai-en-di)

125th Street is the New York Underground station located on the IND Eighth Avenue Line . The station is located in Manhattan , in the Harlem area, at the intersection of 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue . The station serves four subway routes: A and D - work all the time; B - works only on weekdays (except night); C - works daily except late at night.

The station is located on a four-way section of the line, represented by two island platforms. Express trains leave from internal routes, local trains - from external. Unlike other routes, trains A arrive both from the inside and from the outside. It works local only at night, when the other two routes ( B and C ) do not work, the rest of the time it works by express.

The station has a mezzanine located above the platforms along their entire length, there are turnstile halls. There are several exits. Previously, there was also access to 126th Street, but during one of the reconstructions it was closed. The station is accessible for disabled people, was equipped with elevators. The station is in great demand: from here follows the M60 bus to La Guardia Airport , and the Apollo Theater and the College of Medicine are also located nearby.

The next southbound express station is 59th Street - Columbus Circle . The distance to it is 5 km. At the same time, express trains pass seven local stations. This stage leads in the length and number of consecutive local stations throughout the subway.
