Laško ( Slovenian. Laško , German. Tüffer ) is a resort town and community in Slovenia . It is located in the east of the central part of the country, on the Savinja River , 85 km east of Ljubljana and 70 km southwest of Maribor . First mentioned in written sources in 1227. Previously, an ancient Roman settlement was located at this place, but its exact location is unknown. According to the 2002 census, the community population is 13,730 people [2] ; the population of the city is 4619 people.

The city is famous for its thermal springs, as well as local beer. Every year, Lasko hosts the Beer and Flower Festival.
