District named after T. Ryskulov

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council Kaz. On March 4, 1938, the USSR district of T.Ryskulov (formerly Lugovskoy) was separated from the Merken district.

At that time 27 collective farms and 2 state farms operated. They were united in 10 aul districts.

Initially, there were 82,262 hectares of farmland. Cereals were located on an area of ​​13,464 hectares, beets - on 960 hectares and 1550 hectares - cotton. In Soviet times, cereals increased to 130 thousand hectares.

In 1954, three virgin state farms were created in the steppes of Abulkaira and Koragata. And today's Podgorny corporation, Koragaty LLP and Aқbұlag LLP were also organized by the virgin lands.

The area is proud of its working people, including 21 Heroes of Socialist Labor.

For 70 years, our region has reached considerable heights in the development of the economy, in improving the well-being of the people.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 11, 1999, the Lugovsky district of the Zhambyl region was renamed the T.Ryskulov district.
