Biography
He graduated from the Khabarovsk College of Music in the class of trumpet, then in 1968 he graduated from the Theater School of them. B. Schukin and in the same year was accepted into the troupe of the Taganka Theater .
In 1985, during the departure from the USSR, Yuri Lyubimov , when Anatoly Efros was appointed the main director at the Taganka Theater, Shapovalov, together with Veniamin Smekhov and Leonid Filatov, left for the Sovremennik Theater in Moscow, where he worked for two years [1] . In 1987, he returned to the Taganka Theater . Shapovalov, as an actor, is characterized by mastery of reincarnation, careful attention to the word, gesture, powerful temperament [1] . One of the colleagues in the theater, Alexander Trofimov, described him as follows: “ In my opinion, this is that rare breed of artists. This is from the area of Boris Andreev and Pavel Luspekayev - here he is such a popular person ” [2] . In 2009 , when Vitaly Shapovalov was injured (he had a hip fracture ), he was fired by Yuri Lyubimov from the Taganka Theater [3] , but, contrary to expectations, in 2011 , when Lyubimov resigned, he never It was restored to its former place of work under the new artistic director of the theater Valeria Zolotukhin [4] .
Illness and passing away
On October 25, 2017, Vitaliy Vladimirovich, while at home, fell unsuccessfully. As a result, there was a dislocation in the hip joint, where an endoprosthesis was installed five years ago.
Former wife Irina Borisovna, who was caring for Vitaly Vladimirovich, called an ambulance. The patient was hospitalized in the Botkin Hospital , where he was dislocated.
Then the artist was sent for rehabilitation to the hospital of the Office of the President of Russia on Starovolynskaya Street. There was a swelling of a sore leg and a diagnosis of phlegmon was made. The patient was operated on [5] .
The last few days after the operation, Vitaliy Vladimirovich was in extremely serious condition. He died at the 79th year of life on November 14, 2017 in a hospital [6] . He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow [7] .
