Biography
Player Career
The first team of masters for a pupil of the Kharkiv football Alexander Dovbi became Kherson Lokomotiv . In 1974-1975, he played for the Frunzenets from Sumy , after which he returned to Kharkov. In 1976 he was drafted into the army and played for the army club from Kiev, which played in the second league, where in 1977, having scored 18 goals against his opponents, he became one of the team's top goalscorers in the season, lagging behind the best scorer of the tournament, his team-mate Nikolay Pinchuk two balls.
After serving in the army he spent the season in Odessa Chernomorets . In 1979, he returned to his hometown, where for three seasons he went on the field in a Metalist T-shirt, with whom in 1981 he became the winner of the first league tournament, winning a ticket to the top division. Career Coach
Having completed active performances in big football, from 1983 to 1989 he worked as a teacher in the football department of the Kharkov branch of the Kiev State University of Physical Culture and as a trainer-teacher at the Kharkov State Higher School No. 1.
In 1990-1991 he worked in the coaching staff of the Kharkov Metalist, and in the 1993/94 season was the head coach of the team. Later he served as second coach in the Zhitomir "Chemist" . In the 1993/94 season, he trained the Neftyanik team from Akhtyrka , then headed the top league clubs Zvezda (Kirovograd) and Vorskla . With the Poltava club took part in games for the Intertoto Cup .
In 1999, he returned to Kharkov, where he was an assistant with Mikhail Fomenko, who was training Metalist. In 2002, Leonid Tkachenko , who headed the Russian club of the highest league at Anji , invited Dovbiy to the coaching staff of his team. From 2009 to 2011, he worked in Vietnam , where he was the head coach and one of the founders of the national football academy PVF [1] .
From October 2011 to September 2012, he served as the sports director of the Olimpia football club (Balti).
Since September 2012, he has held the position of Senior Lecturer at the Department of Football and Hockey at the Kharkov State Academy of Physical Culture.
