Biography
In 1965 he graduated with honors from the Military-Political Academy named after V.I. Lenin . In 1968 he defended his thesis “Methodological problems of the scientific leadership of a socialist society and its defense”, in 1974 - his doctoral dissertation “Theoretical and methodological problems of the scientific management of military development in a socialist society”.
From 1983 to September 1988, he was director of the Institute of Sociological Research (ISI of the USSR Academy of Sciences).
From 1991 to 2005, he was First Deputy Director of the Institute for Social and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISPI RAS).
Currently - Deputy Head of the Department of Sociology of National Security and Federalism, ISPI RAS.
Member of the editorial board of the scientific journals " Sociological Research " and " Social and Humanitarian Knowledge ."
The author of more than 400 scientific publications ( monographs , manuals, brochures) and 11 poetry collections.
