Biography

Born on March 20, 1919 in the village of Priozernoe, now the Akkol district of the Akmola region of the Republic of Kazakhstan . He graduated from the seven-year school, then - the railway school of trade schools in the city of Petropavlovsk, Kazakh SSR. He worked as a mechanic in a train depot at the Petropavlovsk station.

In 1938 he was called up to the frontier troops of the NKVD ; he served in the outposts in Armenia and Kamchatka . In 1941 he was transferred to the 205th rifle regiment of the troops of the NKVD of the USSR for the protection of particularly important industrial enterprises ( Gorky ). In 1942 he graduated from short-term officer courses (courses for junior lieutenants) of the Saratov College of the NKVD troops.

At the beginning of 1944, he was appointed deputy chief of the 8th outpost of the 13th Border Regiment, and then its chief. Zastava guarded the rear of the Soviet troops, liberated the territory of Ukraine , Belarus and the Baltic States .

On July 1, 1944, during an inspection of posts, he discovered an enemy group of up to the company, moving in the direction of the military escort. The outpost, consisting of 30 people, under the command of Kirdishchev, entered the battle, as a result of which 34 Nazis, including 6 officers, were destroyed and 24 captured.

On July 13, 1944, the outpost followed to the village of Pustalovka, Vilna County . The side guard reported that a fascist detachment of up to 300 people was moving in the direction of the village. Gabriel Kirdishchev decided to accept the battle. A fierce firefight ensued, during which the command was given to weaken and then cease fire in order to create the appearance of destroying the outpost. Having let the fascists on 50-70 meters, the frontier guards fired heavy fire at them, destroying the main forces of the enemy, and went up to the counter.

During the attack, the outpost commander was seriously injured, continuing to lead the battle. Junior Lieutenant Kirdishchev was taken to 544 medical battalion, where he died from a wound to the chest.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to this, Lieutenant Kirdishchev Gavriil Fedotovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously). He was awarded the Order of Lenin (03.24.1945, posthumously).

The ashes of G.F. Kirdishchev rest in the mass grave of the Memorial Ensemble in memory of the Soviet soldiers of the Great Patriotic War on Antakalnis .

Memory

On May 15, 1975, on the basis of Decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR No. 319-20 dated May 15, 1975, the name Kirdishchev was assigned to the border post "Nalychevo" in Kamchatka, where he served before the war. He was forever enlisted in the lists of personnel [1] , his bust was installed on the outpost.

Streets in Alekseevka , in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky are named after him.

In 2008, the secondary school of the Akmola district of the Akmola region of the Republic of Kazakhstan was named after him.

On May 26, 2008, the name Kirdishchev was assigned to school No. 28 of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky [2] .

The ship of the Far Eastern Shipping Company (in service since 1976), one of the fishing trawlers of the Kamchattralflot enterprise, was also named after Kirdishchev .
