Vshchizhskoe principality - a specific principality in the Chernigov principality , which existed from 1156 to 1239 , with the center in the city of Vshchizh , which included the city of Berezii .
History
In the first half of the 12th century, the territory of the principality was dominated by the Chernigov Prince Vsevolod Olgovich , who in 1142 ceded it together with the Chernigov Vladimir Davydovich . The first prince of prism was his son Svyatoslav .
In 1159 , during the reign of Svyatoslav, Vshchizh was attacked and besieged by Svyatoslav Olgovich , who came to him with Polochans and Galician team, and was not taken only thanks to the help sent by Andrei Bogolyubsky . However, the Principality of Vshchizhskoye became dependent on Svyatoslav Olgovich, established in Chernigov . In 1164, after his death, Svyatoslav Vshchizhsky became the eldest in the family, but he did not strive to Chernigov and remained prince in Vshchizh until the end of his life ( 1167 ). After his death, Vshchizhskoe principality was divided between his relatives, the brothers Svyatoslav and Yaroslav Vsevolodovich. Oleg Svyatoslavich (Prince of Novgorod-Seversky) was dissatisfied with the division of ownership.
After the Mongolian ruin in the spring of 1238 , when Vshchizh was razed to the ground (one of the historical versions links the death of the four younger sons Vladimir Svyatoslavich [1] with this event), the city and the principality ceased to exist. From the middle of the XIII century, the territory of the former Vshchizhsky principality entered the Bryansk principality .
