Biography
Born in the city of Olviopol , in the baronial family von Asheberg , May 28, 1865 .
In 1863 , after graduating from the Alexander Cadet Corps , he entered the 2nd Konstantinovsky Military School , graduating from which in 1863 he was released as second lieutenant in the Pernovsky 3rd Grenadier Regiment .
In 1866 he was promoted to lieutenant for distinction. In 1868 he was transferred to the Jaeger Life Guards Regiment , renamed the Second Lieutenant Guard .
In 1869 he was promoted to lieutenant, in 1873 to the staff captains , from 1877 to the captains , he commanded a company in the L. Guard of the Jaeger Regiment .
From 1877 to 1878 he participated in the Russian-Turkish war . In 1877 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree with swords and St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with swords and a bow for courage.
January 2, 1879 for bravery Highest order Asheberg was awarded the Golden Saber with the inscription "For Bravery"
Since 1881 , he was appointed senior adjutant to the Headquarters of the Guard Troops and the St. Petersburg Military District , in the same year he was promoted to colonel for distinction.
Since 1892 he was appointed commander of the 88th Petrovsky Infantry Regiment .
In 1895 he was promoted to major general and appointed commander of the L. Guard of the 2nd Infantry Battalion .
Since 1900 he was appointed commander of the St. Petersburg local brigade. In 1903 , for the distinction, he was promoted to lieutenant general .
Since 1906 he was appointed commander of the 18th Army Corps
Since 1908 , he was promoted to general from infantry and appointed assistant commander of the General Staff of the Guards and the St. Petersburg Military District .
From 1912 to 1917 he was a member of the Military Council . In 1914 , for about two months, he served as commander of the Petrograd Military District.
In 1913 he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle , and in 1915 the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky
