Michel Henri Joseph Mo ( fr. Michel-Henri-Joseph Maus ; October 22, 1808 , Namur - July 13, 1893 , Brussels ) - Belgian engineer, one of the participants in the pioneering work on the creation of the first railways in Europe.

In the 1830s He worked on the laying of the Meuse - Mosel channel, then headed the coal mines management of the Liege region, where he developed a mine drainage system that was important for the development of the coal industry.
In the 1840s worked on laying the Belgian railways. A unique engineering solution was proposed to them in Liege , where the hilly terrain impeded the movement of low-power vehicles: to overcome the rise of the compound on the hill a system of winches and cables was designed, thanks to which the beginning of the Brussels -Liege message became possible on May 1, 1842 .
In the 1850s worked outside the country - in particular, headed the construction of the railway Turin - Genoa (assisted him Italian engineer Germain Sommeilier ). Then he returned to Belgium, where he became general director of the department of bridges and roads. Under the leadership of Mo, work was done to close the Senna River within the precincts of Brussels .
Henri Moe was elected to the Belgian Academy of Sciences, was a jury member of the World Exhibitions in Vienna ( 1873 ), Brussels ( 1876 ) and Paris ( 1878 ).
The name Mo has the Technical Institute of the French Community of Belgium in Namur .
