Leonid Stepanovich (Les) Tanyuk ( July 8, 1938 , Zhukin - March 18, 2016 [3] , Kiev ) - Ukrainian political and public figure, director, screenwriter, People's Artist of Ukraine ( 2008 ). Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of 1–5 convocations.

Biography

Education and career

Born in the family of a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature.

He graduated from school in Lutsk, worked as a foundry moulder at a factory, graduated from a cultural and educational college, worked as an actor in the Volyn Regional Drama Theater. In 1963 he graduated from the Kiev National University of Theater, Cinema and Television named after I.K. Karpenko-Kary .

In 1959-1963 - President of the Club of creative youth in Kiev. He staged performances in the Lviv Ukrainian Drama Theater, Odessa Theater. Revolution, Kharkov Theater. Shevchenko.

Due to persecution by local authorities, he left for Moscow. In 1965-1986 - staged performances at the Central House of Artists, Moscow Art Theater, theaters. Stanislavsky, them. Pushkin, them. Moscow City Council. He conducted human rights activities.

In 1986-1988 - The main director of the Kiev Youth Theater. He was relieved of his post without the right to direct. Then - in creative work, in senior positions in the Union of Theater Workers, deputy chairman of the Kiev branch of the Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine.

He was fluent in German, French, and English.

One of the initiators of the creation of the Anti-Communist anti-imperialist front.

The most dangerous phenomenon in parliament was considered the transition from one political force to another. Founder and chairman of the All-Ukrainian Memorial Society named after V. Stus (1989-2014), since 2014 - Honorary Chairman.

On March 22, 2016 in Kiev, in the building of the “Cabinet of Ministers Club”, a farewell ceremony was held with Les Tanyuk, in which President of Ukraine P. Poroshenko took part [5] . He was buried at the Bike cemetery .
