Ludum Dare (from Latin “give the game” [1] ) is a competition for the accelerated development of computer games. Founded by Geoff Howland and was first held in April 2002. Ludum Dare received media coverage from sources such as PC Gamer [2] and Wired [3] . A unique feature of this competition is that participants often release videos of the creation of the games. Competition Rules
Ludum Dare Competition rules are stricter than Jam rules. This should provide a level playing field for all participants.
- Fundamental rules:
- You must work alone (independently).
- All game code and content must be created within 48 hours.
- Games should be based on the topic.
- All publicly accessible libraries and middleware are allowed.
- All utilities for creating content and utilities for developers (3dsmax, Photoshop, Flash, etc.) are allowed.
- The source code must be attached to the game.
