Biography

Willy Hofman was born on December 27, 1940 in Zurich . From an early age I became interested in sports, later became interested in bobsled and was selected to the national team of Switzerland, joining it as an accelerator. Immediately began to show good results, in particular, at the European Championship in 1968 in St. Moritz won gold in the standings of fours. Due to this success, he won the right to defend the honor of the country at the Olympic Games in Grenoble , where, being a member of the four-seater crew, which also included the pilot Jean Vicky with dispersing Hans Kandrian and Walter Graf , won the bronze medal.

Then he had a recession that lasted for several years and did not bring him a single medal. Competition in the national team has greatly increased, so soon Willie Hoffman decided to end his career as a professional athlete, giving way to young Swiss bobsleighs.
