Künes County ( Uig. كۈنەس ناھىيىسى , Künes Nahiyisi) or Xinyuan County ( Chinese уп 源 县 , Pinyin : Xīnyuán Xiàn ) is a county in the Ili-Kazakh Autonomous Region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.

Content
History
In 1884, the Qing government created the Xinjiang province, and since 1888 this territory became part of Ningyuan County . In 1932, Gongliu County was isolated from Ningyuan County . In 1939, the nomadic Kunes region (named after the Kunes river) was allocated from the composition of Gunlu County. In October 1946, it was transformed into Xinyuan County ("New Beginning").
Geographical position
In the north, the county borders with Nilki county, in the west - with the Chapchal-Sibosky autonomous district , in the west and south - with the county of Tokkuztara, in the east - with the Baingol-Mongol Autonomous District .
