Story
The film begins by cutting shots from the early Westerns with Wayne, which tells the story of the legendary shooter J. B. Buchs. January 22, 1901 he arrives in Carson City ( Nevada ), where he learns from his old friend Dr. Hostetler that he is terminally ill with cancer. Buchs rents a room in Mrs. Rogers' widow's house. He would like to end his days alone, but the past does not give him this opportunity ...

Production
The film became a kind of epilogue to John Wayne's long and glorious career, which began in the era of silent cinema and culminated in the awarding of the Oscar to the actor for the best male role in 1970 . In 1964, Wayne had his entire left lung and several ribs removed as a result of cancer treatment. However, at the time of filming The Most Accurate, despite many misconceptions, the actor was not ill with cancer. The disease (now cancer of the stomach ) returned later.
At Wayne’s personal request, Hollywood stars - Lauren Bacall, James Stewart, Richard Boone and John Carradine - refused to participate in other projects for the filming of “Most Tagged”. In the process of filming, Wayne made several changes to the script. In particular, the JB Books originally had to shoot Jack Palford in the back, but Wayne told Don Siegel, “Mr., I made over 250 films and never shot the guys in the back.” Fix it". Siegel noted that he liked some of Wayne’s ideas, some didn’t, but they “respected each other”. [one]
