Geography
The village is located on the right bank of the Volga, 84.5 km east of Nizhny Novgorod and 8.5 km from Lyskovo . The village of Letnevo adjoins the village from the north. Other nearby settlements - Small Shipilovo , Ermolino , Monari . Not far from the village flows the Monarka River (Munarka), the right tributary of Sundovik .
Infrastructure
There are more than 20 houses in Bolshoy Shipilov, there is a payphone.
