Name Etymology
The etymology of the word "Kakshaal" is not entirely clear, most likely, the name comes from the Turkic qaqsal ("dead forest" or "dried trees"). The name “Taushkandarya” is most likely from the addition of the words Daria (“river”) and Tashkan (“stormy stream”). Thus, it can be translated as “stormy river”. [2]
