Biography
Born in the commune of Cibiana di Cadore , region of Venice . From an early age he became interested in sports, later became interested in bobsleigh and was selected for the Italian national team, joining her as a pilot. Immediately began to show good results, in particular, already in 1965 he won a silver medal at the World Championships in Swiss St. Moritz, having arrived second in the classification of fours. In 1967 he took silver in doubles at the world championships in the Alp-d'Huez, there were supposed to pass the Olympic bobsled competitions in 1968, but due to an injury de Zordo was forced to refuse to participate in these races.
In 1969, at the World Championships in the American Lake Placid, he was awarded the world champion title, finishing first in the double-crew program, and the next year at the competitions in St. Moritz received gold in fours. Having beaten out as the leader of the Italian team, in 1972 he went to defend the country's honor at the Sapporo Olympic Games, where he won a silver award as part of a team that also included overclocking Gianni Bonicon , Adriano Frassinelli and Corrado dal Fabro .
Subsequently, he continued to compete at a high level, but already less successfully. So, in 1976 he became a participant in the Olympic Games in Innsbruck , but could not reach the prize places, showing the eleventh result in fours and only sixteenth in doubles. After this setback, he decided to end his career as a professional athlete, giving way to young Italian bobsledders. Later he opened his own ice cream parlor, which he was managing until the end of his life.
