Content
History
From January 9 to March 1935 it was the center of the Shaulder district , from February 1963 - the center of the Kzyl-Kum rural region, from July 5, 1991 - the Otrar district [3] .
Population
In 1999, the village population was 8561 people (4242 men and 4319 women) [4] . According to the 2009 census , 8428 people lived in the village (4205 men and 4223 women) [4] .
As of January 1, 2018, the village population was 7462 people (3854 men and 3608 women) [1] .
Attractions
To the north-west of the village is located the medieval settlement Zhalpaktobe [5] .
