Nissan Stagea is a station wagon based on the Nissan Skyline platform and created by Nissan in 1996 to compete with the Subaru Legacy Touring . The model was intended only for the domestic market of Japan . Three different series of this model were produced: WC34 Series 1 from 1996 to the end of 1998, WC34 Series 2 from the end of 1998 to 2001 and the M35 series from 2001 to 2007.

WC34 Series 1
The first series was produced from 1996 to 1998 and was equipped with engines of 2.0 or 2.5 liters with or without turbocharging . Engine power ranged from 153 liters. with. up to 231 liters with. The drive in the basic version was carried out on the rear wheels, there was also an all-wheel drive version.
WC34 Series 2
The second series, produced from 1998 to 2001, was generally similar to the previous model. The front and rear lights became different, as well as the interior design somewhat changed. The engines were modernized, as a result of which the most powerful version began to develop 280 liters. with.
M35 Series
The M35 series (2001-2007) outwardly differed significantly from the cars of previous series. In the third generation, VQ architecture engines were used, rather than the obsolete RB series engines.

- 3.0 300RX: equipped with a 260 hp VQ30DD engine did not have a turbocharger.
- 3.5 axis 350S: equipped with a 280 liter VQ35DE engine with.
