Biography

Born in the family of a soldier, ensign . He was educated at the Pskov military gymnasium, and later graduated from the Riga infantry cadet school .

08/12/1877, entered the service of privates, volunteers of the 3rd category. He was enrolled in the 96th Infantry Reserve Battalion. In October 1878 he was transferred to the service in the 96th Omsk Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to non-commissioned officer, then to senior non-commissioned officer. For excellent results in fencing he was awarded a personal weapon - a revolver.

September 10, 1880 - ensign. Transferred to the 90th Onega Infantry Regiment on March 5, 1884.

Later transferred to the Omsk 96th Infantry Regiment . Second Lieutenant (01.16.1885). Lieutenant (03/01/1888). Headquarters Captain (04/01/1899). Captain (05/06/1900).

Member of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904 - 1905 . Injured. 09/26/1905 for the shown military distinctions promoted to lieutenant colonel.

06/01/1906, for the distinction received the rank of colonel.

On 08/08/1911 he was appointed commander of the Nevsky 1st Infantry Regiment . Member of the First World War . He commanded a regiment on a campaign in East Prussia and in battles ( Battle of Tannenberg ) as part of the 1st Infantry Division of the 13th Army Corps .

On August 17, 1914, he personally led the attempt to break out of the encirclement, received 4 wounds, including bayonets. Being wounded, was captured. January 2, 1915 as a missing person, was excluded from the regimental lists.

In 1916, when exchanging wounded and disabled people with Germany, he returned to Russia. On April 6, 1916, he was appointed to the reserve of ranks at the headquarters of the Petrograd Military District.

For the valor and military distinctions shown on May 6, 1916, he was awarded the rank of Major General.

Dismissed from service due to illness March 22, 1917.
