Tsayg ( Armenian: Ցայգ ) is a private television company in Armenia, broadcasting from Gyumri . Having received the license on January 3, the channel went on the air on May 10, 1992, thereby becoming the first private channel in Armenia. [2] In 1993, due to the energy crisis, the channel was broadcast at night (23: 00-9: 00). In 1994, the television channel joined the Internews Network, an association of private television companies in the South Caucasus. On November 15, 1994, for financial reasons, the channel temporarily stopped broadcasting. Also, one of the creators, Arthur Yezekyan, who created the Shant TV and Radio Company in the same year, left the channel. In 1996, having received a loan, the company updated its equipment, and on June 17 resumed broadcasting on the 6-meter Gyumri channel with 14-hour broadcasting. At present, Tsayg , along with the Shant channel, is one of the most popular and influential regional television companies in Armenia. Broadcasting covers the Shirak region, and the channel also broadcasts on the Internet.
