Biography

In 1936, the 16-year-old Tamara went to the flying club of the city ​​of Sverdlovsk . Then she got into the Ulyanovsk flight school, where 11 girls studied among 250 guys.

After graduating from college, Tamara worked as an instructor pilot at the flying club, which a month after the outbreak of the war became a military flight school, and she taught the cadets to fly an airplane - UT-2 .

In October 1941, Tamara and two other girls were summoned to Moscow, to the headquarters of the Air Force. From there, she came to the city of Engels, Saratov region.

During the Great Patriotic War, made 205 sorties and shot down 2 German bomber. She served in the 586th Aviation Regiment.

In an air battle on March 19, 1943, in a pair with Raisa Surnachevskaya , they repelled a raid of a group of 42 [1] bombers on the Kastornoye railway junction, shooting down 4 aircraft. For this they were awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

A little later, the English king, after reading about this message, sent a gold watch to the pilots as a gift through the Soviet Foreign Ministry. The Memorable watches on the watch were engraved: “Brave and elegant pilot, Lieutenant Tamara Memorable from King of England George VI!” . [2]

After the war, she worked as a dispatcher at the Rostov airport of the Civil Air Fleet.

Family

In 1944, Memorable married to Chasnyk Nikolai Leontievich - a fighter pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union .

The family had two sons and a daughter. The younger son, Alexander [6] , followed the parental path and also became a fighter pilot, now a retired colonel.
