Hroni ( Chronya ; Ukrainian. Hroni , Crimean Tat. Hroni, Hroni ) - a narrow cape in the Crimea , ending with a tower-shaped cliff. Located on the northeastern tip of the Kerch Peninsula , 0.5 km north of the village Osoviny . From the west the cape is washed by the Bulganak Bay, in the east - the northern entrance to the Kerch Strait .

History
During the Great Patriotic War, during the Kerch-Feodosiya landing operation, on December 26, 1941, in the conditions of a blizzard and heavy frost, the landing of the 83rd Marine Corps Brigade took place at the Cape Khroni. The landing of the landing force took place under heavy enemy fire. The paratroopers here were supported by gunboats "Dniester" and No. 4. It was possible to disembark 1,452 people from the ships, unload three tanks and four guns. From the 83rd Marine Brigade, the 3rd Battalion landed here under the command of Senior Lieutenant A.P. Panov, the headquarters and command of the brigade led by Colonel I.P. Leontiev [6] .
600 meters east of Cape Chroni at the exit of the Kerch-Yenikalsky Canal on November 22, 2018 a barge sank, carrying 3,300 tons of grain. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Crimea. The sinking of the vessel in the shipping channel occurred at a depth of about ten meters. As a result of the incident, the crew members were not injured. No shipping barriers were created [2] .
