Biography
John Villiers Farrow (baptized as Jack ) was born February 10, 1904 in Sydney , Australia , into the family of tailors Joseph Farrow and Lucy Farrow (nee Savage; d. 1907 ). In 1908, his father remarried, from this marriage in 1912 the half-sister of John was born (the stepmother died in childbirth). Leaving the children in the care of his mother and sister, Joseph served in the army in 1915-16.

For the sake of this marriage, John divorced his first wife, Felicia, adopted the Catholic faith, and Maureen herself had to get permission for marriage from the pope .
