Geography
QS is located in the north-eastern part of the Priyutnensky district of Kalmykia, on the Ergeninsky Upland . The territory of the QS includes two sections, divided among themselves by the territory of the Elista city district. The total land area within the boundaries of the municipality is 14951 hectares or 149.51 km? [2] .
The main site borders in the north and south with the Elista city district , in the east with the Tselinny district ( Voznesenovskoye rural municipality ), and in the west with the Sandy SMO .
The second section borders on the east with the Elista city district , in the south with the Pervomaisky SMO , in the southwest with the Nartinsky SMO , in the north and west with the Sandy SMO .
The territory of Buluktinsky QS is located in the zone of dry steppe landscapes.
Climate
The territory of the settlement by climatic zoning refers to the zone of sharply continental climate. Inadequate humidification. The average annual rainfall is 285 mm on average. The winds are mainly east and north-east. The settlement area is periodically exposed to dry winds and droughts. A positive feature of the climate is a long growing season with a large sum of active temperatures [2] .
Soil
A well-developed microrelief of the territory creates conditions for the complexity of soils. In small depressions, solonetzes formed, on the watersheds - light chestnut soils , which on the slopes are more or less washed away. On the negative relief elements under conditions of additional surface wetting, semi- hydromorphic soils (meadow chernozemic, meadow chestnut and meadow brown) were formed due to local runoff water, which, compared to zonal (automorphic) soils, have a greater thickness of humus horizons and relatively high humus content [2] .
History
The boundaries of the Buluktinsky SMO are established by the Law of the Republic of Kalmykia dated June 17, 2002 No. 217-II-Z "On Establishing the Borders of the Buluktinsky Rural Municipal Formation of the Republic of Kalmykia" [4] .
Despite the fact that the village of Naryn is part of the Buluktinsky rural municipality, it is geographically located within the urban district of Elista . This necessitates appropriate changes to the boundaries of the urban district of Elista and the Priyutnensky district of Kalmykia.
