Biography

He came from the nobles of the Vitebsk province , was born on September 12 ( 24 ), 1822 .

He graduated from the Tula Gymnasium [1] and on January 16, 1838 was enrolled in the Main Engineering School , where his name for excellent achievements in science was written on the honorary board. At the end of the course, on August 8, 1842, he was promoted to field engineer and warrant officer , leaving at the school to continue his studies in officer classes . On August 19, 1843, he was promoted to second lieutenant, and on August 30, 1844, he was promoted to lieutenant with admission to the Engineering Corps.

Khlebnikov spent the first decade of his service at the St. Petersburg , Kiev and Sevastopol engineering teams and successively received the ranks of headquarters captain (in 1848, with seniority from July 1, 1852) and captain (July 9, 1852).

During the Eastern War, he was at the disposal of the commander of the 4th and 5th army corps, and then the chief of engineers of the troops of the same corps, who were in the Danubian principalities during the first period of the campaign (1853-1854); participated in the reconnaissance of Turtukai and Calafat fortifications; during the siege of Silistria, he was in charge of part of the siege work; at the end of 1854 he arranged for reinforcement and crossing the Dniester near Mogilev-Podolsky and was sent to Perekop to install fortifications on the isthmus of the Crimean peninsula , from February 13, 1855 he was under the chief of engineers of the Southern Army for special assignments and participated in the defense of Sevastopol . For distinctions awarded the orders of sv. 4th degree Vladimir with a bow, St. Anne 3rd degree with swords and 2nd degree with the imperial crown and swords.

At the end of the Crimean War, on April 15, 1856, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and transferred to the St. Petersburg Engineering Team, with the assignment of the Inspector General for Engineering to the headquarters. In 1859 he was appointed commander of the Kronstadt engineering team; On April 23, 1861, for the difference in service, he was promoted to colonel, and in 1862 transferred to the disposal of the chief of engineers of the Kingdom of Poland , where on August 11, 1864 he received the position of assistant chief of engineers of the Warsaw Military District .

During the Polish uprising of 1863-1864 he was part of the troops of the Warsaw garrison. From March 25, 1866 to March 18, 1869, he held the position of provisional Keleck governor , then was a kind of weapon without a position, and from August 8, 1869, already with the rank of major general (from June 10, 1867, seniority was established from August 30, 1867 years), was appointed to be for special assignments under the Commander-in-Chief of the Warsaw Military District. From January 26, 1874 he was enlisted in the reserve troops and on August 30, 1882 he was promoted to lieutenant general .

July 14, 1883 he again entered the active service and was appointed commandant of the Novogeorgievskaya fortress .

He was appointed a member of the military council on May 3, 1893. He was promoted to general engineer on May 14, 1896. In 1898, he participated at the Highest Command in the proceedings of the commission on the revision of the regulation on the management of fortresses and on the discussion of various kinds of serfdom issues. May 23, 1904 was elected an honorary member of the Nikolaev Engineering Academy . January 3, 1906 was dismissed from service with a uniform and pension.

He died in 1908 in Sevastopol .
