It's Me, Chelsea ) [1] - an American sitcom created by Dottie Cyclin and Julie Ann Larson. The series is based on the 2008 best-selling Chelsea Handler and aired on NBC on January 11, 2012. [2] On May 11, 2012, the channel closed the television series [3] .

Story
The series tells the story of an outspoken woman, Chelsea Newman, whose character is based on Chelsea Handler, and her close friends in New Jersey through the narrative and observations of Newman herself. Many situations are taken from Handler’s book, which is based on her career at age 20.

Production
The pilot first appeared in the production of NBC in November 2010 [4] . On January 26, 2011, NBC began developing a pilot release. Dottie Cyclin and Julie Ann Larson wrote the script for the pilot, and Gail Mancuso was supposed to direct the series [5] . In addition to this, executive producer Chelsea Handler will be co-starring in the series, Chelsea's pregnant older sister.
Casting began in January 2011. The first was approved by Laura Prepon , who plays the leading role of Chelsea Newman, in the early stages of the development of Chelsea Hanson. Then Angel Laketa Moore joined the cast, who was supposed to play Shonika, an assistant to the head of the sports bar where Chelsea works [7] . Lauren Lapkus and Natalie Morales respectively play the roles of Dee Dee, the champagne with which Chelsea and Ivory live, and Morales playing Ivory, an old friend of Chelsea of Filipino-American descent [8] . Joe Coy later joined the series as Mark, a bartender, a Chelsea colleague. [9] Mark Povinelli joined the show in the role of Todd, an employee of the sports bar where Chelsea works [10] . Lenny Clark was the last approved actor; he plays Melvin, father of Chelsea, who is a great man and a great personality. [11]
NBC ordered the pilot of the series on May 13, 2011, to begin showing the series in the middle of the 2011-2012 season [12] . Half-hour series are produced by Warner Bros. Television [13] .
On July 3, 2011, it was announced that Morales, Moore, and Coy were expelled from the cast due to creative differences [14] . On August 9, 2011, Jake McDorman replaced Joe Coy as a bartender. In the original pilot, he played Jonathan, one of Chelsea's love interests. Also, the location of the show was moved from Los Angeles to New Jersey.
On August 25, 2011, Ali Wong joined the cast as Olivia, Chelsea’s best friend since elementary school and as a waitress in the bar where Chelsea works [15] .
On November 14, 2011, NBC announced that “Where are you, Chelsea?” Starts on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 19:30 to 20:30 after the Whitney sitcom [16] .
