History
It was created on February 13, 1943 by order of the Supreme Headquarters on the basis of the 9th Krainsky shock brigade. Initially, there were about 700 soldiers. For the first time, she rushed into battle during Operation Weiss II, but suffered huge losses and was in reserve for a long time because of this. During her stay in the reserve, it was reinforced by the 10th Krai’s strike brigade in March-April 1943, the 7th Krai’s strike brigade on August 10, 1943 , the 13th Krai’s strike brigade ( September 1943 - March 26, 1944 ) and the 17th Krai’s strike brigade since May 1944 . By the end of the war, it increased its number to almost 8 thousand people.
In 1944 she continued her hostilities, participated in the first Banja Luka operation, the storming of Travnik, Sarajevo and Karlovac operations. On May 12, 1945, near the Zidane Bridge, together with the 3rd Shock and 4th Krajinski Divisions, it accepted the surrender of the 7th SS Division “Prince Eugen” and the 373rd Croatian Infantry Division . For its military merits received the honorary name "shock".
