Ostzey Jews living in the borderlands of modern Lithuania and Belarus in some historical census documents were referred to as “baltġudiai”, or “baltgud исходя” based on archival materials, this ethnic group was assimilated by the processes of polonization at the beginning of the 19th century. In modern census sources, they can be listed as representatives of Polish nationality. [7]
