The Silver Island Theater was founded in 1997 with the support of the Chornobil-Vіdrodzhennya public organization and its general V.M. Smooth

The creative idea of ​​the theater, encoded in the name itself, is to revive, concentrate and transmit to the audience the so-called “silver” energy, which embodies eternal moral ideals. This is the author’s theater, which is the creative workshop of the Honored Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the international prize named after K. S. Stanislavsky Lyudmila Lymar.

A circle of like-minded people gathered on the Silver Island, believing in the idea and creative path chosen by the theater, most of which are young and talented artists. The most important task of a creative workshop is to create an acting ensemble with a deep professional foundation and a wide creative palette.

Theater performances were participants and laureates of international theater festivals.

Such interesting young actors as Mikhail Mikhail Shikula, Elena Ogorodniychuk, Mikhail Gerasimchuk, Oksana Bandura, Leyla Dzhabieva, Tatyana Bondarenko, etc. began their creative destinies on the stage of the theater. Artist Dmitry Bazai expanded his creative palette interestingly and unexpectedly. The honored artist of Ukraine Oleg Kovalenko, actors Alexander Kochubey, Igor Halizov clearly declared themselves.

At present, the theater youth are trying their creative strength on the Serebryany Ostrov stage - graduates and students from various universities - Olga Sadovskaya, Yuri Raevsky, Roman Grigel, Antonina Korotenko, Vladimir Sytnik Karina Kolomiyets, Anastasia Serdyuk, Ivan Ganev, Valeria Levchenko and others .

From the day of its foundation, the theater has been following a very difficult path - through an independent collective. First of all, independent of financial assistance from the state. And it’s almost like a rope across the abyss without support. In the hope of our own strengths - of strength of spirit, of faith in the “silver” goal and confidence that it is interesting and necessary not only for us, and of course for our own creative potential. Indeed, the fact that our “island” has not yet drowned in the ocean of a market “household”, and more and more young and talented people are arriving on its territory, probably speaks of that same creative potential.

The theater operates on an entreprise system. Today, the word entreprise is firmly entrenched in the mind, as a synonym for creative precocity and hack work. The quality of our performances (according to numerous reviews from the audience) proves that there are exceptions to this rule. And the reason is that not one of our performances goes to the audience’s judgment before we make sure that we have something to captivate the mind and heart of those who came to our auditorium.

Of course not easy. And today the theater is going through perhaps the most difficult period in its creative destiny. This chapter of our life can be called "To be or not to be?" Due to the circumstances, we left the theater hall of the hotel complex "Tourist", where we worked for almost 10 years. With gratitude to the management of "Tourist" we recall this time. And today, problems with the room. Now our performances will be held in the Kiev house of Scientists. At our creative disposal is a beautiful theater hall with 200 seats. We will inform about the time of our performances on the theater website.

A repertoire is being created on the “Silver Island”, which causes the undoubted interest of the viewer and attracts the attention of the press.

Following its idea of ​​the revival of morality, the theater is doing a lot of work with young spectators. Since 2002, the theater’s project has been ongoing, together with the UNICEF Foundation at the UN, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Russian Embassy in Ukraine, which is called the Silver Road to Young Hearts. As part of this project, the theater gave many performances for orphanages, boarding schools, for children with disabilities and children from low-income families. The theater conducted tours throughout Ukraine, giving performances in all educational colonies for juvenile delinquents. In 2009, as part of this project, he showed his performances in the assembly halls of leading universities in Kiev. In 2012, the play "Natasha’s Dream" was received with great interest by the pupils of the Melitopol colony for juvenile delinquents. And in 2017, the performance “Brothers” connected the east and west of Ukraine, having visited hot spots where hostilities were fought (Lysychansk, Novoaydar).

The theater receives a large number of letters from spectators of all ages with gratitude and hope for new meetings.
