Municipal budgetary educational institution gymnasium No. 30 (MBOU Gymnasium No. 30) is a general educational institution of municipal subordination of the city of Ivanovo, Ivanovo region . The gymnasium was founded on January 24 (11), 1878 as a female gymnasium . Gymnasium number 30 is the oldest of all existing educational institutions of the city of Ivanovo [1] . The school building was built in 1904 and is a monument of architecture [2] .

History

 
Ivanovo-Voznesenskaya female gymnasium at the beginning of the XX century

The school was opened in 1878 as the first gymnasium for girls [3] . Originally, the gymnasium was located on Panskaya Street (now Stanko Street ). The first room for the gymnasium was provided by Mrs. Krasilshchikova, the gymnasium was located on the second floor of her house [4] . Later the school moved to the building of the former dyeing factory, where the school is located to this day. This building was donated to the city by Ivanovo manufacturer S.V. Napalkov [1] . The building was built by the project of S.V. Napalkova.

In those days, lessons lasted 60 minutes, and the term of study was 7 years. For girls who wanted to become teachers, there was the 8th pedagogical class [4] .

After the October Revolution , in May 1918, the gymnasium was transformed into a school for co-education of boys and girls. In this case, the teaching staff has not changed [4] . In the 1920-1930s, specialized education was introduced at the school. Drafting, economic and cooperative classes were formed.

During World War II , a hospital for the wounded was housed in the school building. Pupils temporarily transferred to school number 26 [4] . After the war, the school became a man, and in 1954 - again a mixed type.

In 1965, the school became specialized in learning English [4] and acquired the name "English". This makes it different from other schools in Ivanovo .

In 1985, entered in the Book of Honor of the Ministry of Education, in 1996 - winner of the All-Russian competition "School of the Year." The teachers have two winners of the Russian-American Competition for Teachers of English and Regional Studies and 4 winners of the annual competition of teachers held by the Soros Foundation . The students of the school were Mstislav Keldysh , Georgy Petrov , Boris Prorokov [5] , Vasily Goroshchuk. At school, a few years taught Russian artist Oleg Ptitsyn .

In 1974–2003, Valery Kryukov was the school director. When it was for the school were built two additional buildings and created a school government on the basis of the "parliament" of teachers, students and their parents [6] . Kryukov was distinguished by democracy and collectivism, which earned him great confidence in the ranks of his colleagues and students.

In 2003–2010, Olga Fedorovna Logunova, an honored education worker, was the school director. In 2010, she was thanked by the President of the Russian Federation [7] .

Since 2007, the school opened a museum [1] [8] , allowing to get acquainted with the history of the institution.

In September 2010, the school opened a health center. It includes a room for psychological relief, where children can receive qualified psychological assistance, an office with computer diagnostics on the AGDO equipment, two sports halls, an aerobics room and a gym [9] .

For 2011, the school has become one of the leaders in the USE [10] .

Student success

In 2006, Anton Kiryanov was awarded the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation in the framework of the national project "Education" [11] .

In 2008, 10th grader Aleksandr Igoshin became the champion of Russia in tennis among juniors under 16 years old [12] .

In 2010, Boris Kochergin became the winner of the II Regional Contest of Young Chemists, held by IHKTU , and then won second place at the Baltic Science and Engineering Competition, held at St. Petersburg State University [13] .

In 2013, a student of grade 11, Dmitry Salov, took the 1st place in Russia in the International English Olympiad "British Bulldog" [14] . Dmitry confirmed his result later, gaining 100 points in English at the Unified State Exam.

On April 11, 2016, in the Small Meeting Hall of the Government of the Ivanovo Region, the winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad 2016 were honored

At the ceremonial presentation of honored awards were invited Ksenia Khalezova, studying 10 "A" class, and her teacher - social science mentor Viktor Y. Shmelev. Ivan Malov is a winner of the tournament doubles Alexey Dilman.

In 2016, the student of the Grammar School Sashko became the winner in the nomination "Cancer of the Year of the Navy"
