History

The village of Koshelevo was located on the left side of the nearby passing famous Moscow-St. Petersburg highway.

It is known that the village in 1568 with all the villages and wastelands belonging to it was donated by the warrior Vasily Kindyrev to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery . During the Lithuanian invasion, it was ravaged. But the monastery authorities soon settled here their elders, who looked after the monastery economy, the peasants and the village church.

According to the description of 1710, the village of Koshelevo consisted of monastery cattle and stable yards. It is written about the church: “in that village the church of God was wooden in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord, and this summer, by the will of God, it burned down from the burning heat”. In 1719, a new wooden church was built in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Around this time, the village passed into the possession of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery. In addition to Koshelev, the estates included villages: Vedernia, Novoe, Mezhevo, Lukino. In 1779, parishioners began to build a new stone church in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord, and later they wanted to arrange a meal and a chapel in the name of Sergius of Radonezh. The chapel was consecrated on September 21, 1799, and on September 25, 1802 the church itself was consecrated. The wooden church in 1799 was sold to the village of Otrokovichi. In 1851, it was surrounded by a stone fence. In the Koshelevskaya church there were ancient icons from the old church and ancient church books. In the 1930s, the church in the village of Koshelevo disappeared. Her description is preserved in the "Tver diocesan sheets of 1884."

“ At 26 versts from the city of Tver, towards Moscow, a verst from the highway is the village of Koshelevo. The five-domed stone church in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord with a chapel in the meal in honor of the Monk Sergius of Radonezh the Miracle Worker stands on an elevated area and is far visible, even because of the Volga, from which it is five miles away. The church inside is quite extensive, without pillars, the top is led by one oblong vault ... Despite the fact that the main throne in the church in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the parishioners consider their celebration of the Holy Trinity. “On the rather wide graveyard, besides many tombstones, there is a wooden chapel pointing to the place of the old wooden church .”

In 1870, a new cemetery appeared in the field. In 1864, a parish school was opened in the village.

According to 1763, the village of Koshelevo belonged to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra and totaled 119 male souls and 110 female souls. After 1764, the village became owned by the department of the College of Economy.

According to the description of 1806, the village of Koshelevo consisted of 40 yards and 307 inhabitants. In 1859, the village totaled 49 yards and 349 inhabitants. At the end of the 19th century, there were 15 wells and 6 ponds in Koshelev: two in the village and four in the fields. At the same time, a wonderful pine grove was sold and cut down, which was located near the village in the north-western side and gave a special beauty to the area.

In 1900, there were 39 courtyards and 311 inhabitants in Koshelev.
