Realm of the Mad God is a fantasy massively multiplayer browser - based online game created by Wild Shadow Studios in partnership with Spry Fox , two independent developers . It was launched in beta testing in January 2010, and then officially on June 20, 2011 [1] . July 15, 2016 the game and the rights to its development were sold to Deca Games [2] .

Spider Fox's David Edery calls it “MMO based on the gameplay of Shoot 'em up ” [3] .
At each level of the game, an evil deity dwells. The goal of the players is to cooperate and destroy it [4] .
The game has 15 classes. The player starts like a wizard. Subsequently, he can open up new classes by gaining sufficient levels in previous ones. The central feature of the game is that when dying, the character does not regenerate. After death, the player’s character and all his equipment will be lost. Only the things that were in the player's vault remain. After the character dies, the player is rewarded with Glory points, the amount of which depends on how successfully he played. Glory is used to determine the player’s place in the general table, as a resource for buying game items, as well as for feeding and improving animals on the farm.
The game uses the Free-to-play business model (all classes, levels, weapons and armor are free). Also, the player is given a free slot for one player, and one chest in the Storage. Additional chests and slots can be bought for real money, as well as various items, including pets and weapons. Killing monsters gives experience points. These points are duplicated to all players nearby, even if they did not take part in the battle. The basic principle is that people greet other players, not avoid them.
The game is written in Flash, and is also available in the Google Chrome app store.

Gameplay
The game consists in the characters killing monsters with the help of shells flying out of their weapons. After accumulating a certain amount of experience, the player rises in level, which improves the character’s characteristics, and allows him to fight with stronger opponents.
Many aspects of gameplay involve team play. This allows you to earn experience faster - if one character gains experience, everyone nearby is getting it. Players can form “trains” while traveling on roads and destroying monsters on their way to gain experience. Having risen in level, they usually try to defeat more powerful opponents, for example, gods and quest monsters.
Players House - Nexus, where you can teleport at any time. In the Nexus, players can buy goods using coins (bought for real money) or Fame (earned by destroying monsters). Also from the Nexus you can move to other kingdoms. Each kingdom is called the name of a monster from the game. The capacity of each kingdom is equal to 85 players.
Players can move to each other by clicking on the corresponding name and clicking "Teleport". Also, you can “Pin” another player so that his name does not disappear from the list of nearby players. This makes it subsequently easier to teleport to him.
The trading system is based on a natural exchange between players. Forever potions are used as the currency between high-level players. The capacity of the character is very small, only 8 items (not counting those that are worn on the character), plus a personal chest in the Vault.
Classes
The player can choose from a large number of classes, but at the beginning only the wizard is available (if you do not have a Steam version of the game). Additional classes are unlocked after reaching a certain level in the previous ones. Each class has its own abilities, and uses a certain type of armor and weapons.

Armor and weapons
In the world of Realm of the Mad God, you can find any weapon that you like. Types of weapons are divided into three varieties: conventional, ST and UT. There are only 13 conventional types of weapons. UT things are a little more, but each of them has special properties (increased damage, angle of fire and the number of charges leaving the weapon). Weapons are divided into staves, swords, sticks, bows, katanas and daggers. Armor in RotMG is divided into light, heavy, mantle and UT. Light armor suits archers, hunters, stunts, ninjas, killers and thieves. Heavy - to knights, paladins, samurai and warriors. Mantles - to wizards, necromancers, sorcerers and priests. UT armor plays a very large role. All types of armor add protection points, magic, health, and much more. There are 14 types of armor in total. Good armor starts from T7 to T14. Initial, weaker, from T1 to T6. According to the same system as armor, weapons are divided. With the latest updates, more and more weapons and armor are appearing. Of certain things (ST), you can make a set that will change the appearance of the hero. Sets will not be for all heroes. but to certain ones (an example is the Mad God set, which only a knight can wear).
