Thresher - a mechanism or part thereof, designed for threshing certain crops in order to separate seeds from ears and ears [1] .

The need for machines for threshing bread became tangible in many countries as early as the 18th century . Even then, they tried to thresh crops with various machines. After several unsuccessful attempts to use mechanical force to propel ordinary flail, ice rinks, thrusts and various types of mills, Scotsman Meikl came up with the idea of using a rapidly rotating drum for threshing. In fact, this idea was realized in 1786 by the son of Meikl.

According to the ESB , the machine he built this year was the first successfully combined thresher. At the place of construction of the first thresher behind them, for a very long time, the name Scottish or English was established. This system lasted in the Old World for a very long time, so that at the London World Exhibition in 1851 all the threshers exhibited belonged to the Meckley system [2] .

In the Russian Empire, the first threshing device was created in 1655 by the craftsmen Andrei Terentyev and Moses Crick [3] .

Over time, these threshers have undergone significant changes and improvements.

The main types of threshers are: round, bilge, vegetable and corn [3] .
