Hondab [1] [2] , or Handab [1] [2] , or Hendab [3] ( pers. خنداب ) is a small town in the west of Iran , in the province of Merkezi . Included in the shahrestan Erak .

Geography
The city is located in the southwestern part of the Central Ostan , in a mountainous area, at an altitude of 1,674 meters above sea level [1] . Hondab is located approximately 55 kilometers northwest of Erak , the provincial capital, and 235 kilometers southwest of Tehran , the country's capital. The basis of the city’s economy is agricultural production .
Population
As of 2006, the population was 6,982 people [3] ; Azerbaijanis and Persians predominate in the national composition, Shiite Muslims prevail in the confessional.
