It was first mentioned in writing in 1188 as Deuci .
The municipality also included the villages of Marogno and Motto. In 1682, 532 inhabitants lived in the village, the number of which decreased to 391 in 1808. Over the next two centuries, the numbers were stable, reaching 488 in 1900 and 423 in 2000.
In 2004, the municipality was merged with other neighboring municipalities of Castro, Cortzoneso, Largario, Leontica, Lottinia, Marolta, Ponto Valentino and Prujasco to form the new large municipality of Accuarossa.
Work in the village is specialized in the production of watches, for example Adriatica , provides work for a significant part of the population.
