Dan Meridor ( Hebrew דן מרידור ; born April 23, 1947 , Mandatory Palestine ) - Israeli politician and lawyer, member of the Knesset ( 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 , 18 convocations), Minister of Justice Israel ( 1988 - 1992 ), Minister of Finance of Israel ( 1997 - 1998 ), former Minister of Intelligence and the Atomic Energy Commission.

Biography
Dan Meridor was born on April 23, 1947 in the territory of Mandatory Palestine in the family of an associate of Menachem Begin Eliyahu Meridor and Dr. Raanana Meridor [1] . He drafted into the IDF, where he served in the armored forces and rose to the rank of officer. He participated in the Six Day War [2] .
Meridor is a graduate of the law faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem , where he received a bachelor's degree.
Between 1982 and 1984, Meridor served as secretary of government. In 1984, he became a member of the 11th Knesset , as a member of the Likud party , in this convocation he worked as chairman of two subcommittees of parliament. In 1988, he was re-elected to the Knesset of the 12th convocation , at that convocation there were two governments headed by Yitzhak Shamir , in both governments Meridor served as Minister of Justice of Israel .
Subsequently, he retained his place in the Knesset, speaking as a member of the Likud party in the thirteenth and fourteenth convocations. In 1998, he became one of the members of his party who left it and created a new party, “Israel at the Center” (later the “ Center Party ”). From this party, he was elected to the Knesset of the 15th convocation. In 2003 - returned to Likud [2] . After the 16th Knesset elections ( 2003 ), Dan Meridor lost his seat in the Knesset.
For about a year, he served as Minister of Finance in the 27th government of Israel , giving way to Benjamin Netanyahu . In Sharon’s first government , he was a “minister without a portfolio”
At the primaries in Likud, before the elections to the 18th Knesset, he took 17th place, in the government formed by Benjamin Netanyahu , Meridor became Minister for Intelligence Services and the Atomic Energy Commission [3] .
In the 19th Knesset, Meridor did not run [4] .
