History

Since 1849, it was part of Pesochnaya Street (now Professor Popov Street). In 1903, Pesochnaya Street was extended to the west, and on June 12, 1903, Grot Street received its own name, due to the fact that Konstantin Grot’s school for the blind was located on number 6 on this street [1] . The street then ran from Pesochnaya Embankment to the embankment of the Karpovka River . In the late 1950s, the length of the street was reduced to modern limits.
