Geography
It is located on the northern slope of one of the Hamurs of the Ergeninsky Upland at the river of the same name. The village is located 2.6 kilometers from the federal highway M-6 (access to Elista ), located 13.5 kilometers south of the village of Ergeninsky (center of SMO), 39 kilometers from the district center ( Ketchener ), 82.5 kilometers north of the capital of the republic ( Elista ).
History
The first sedentary villages appeared on the territory of the then Abganerovsky aimak (now making up the main core of the modern Ketchenerovsky district) in 1921-1922. around elementary schools, created on the initiative of the population with funds allocated at general meetings of citizens. Then in the tract Sukhatin Godzhur in the place of nomadic Abganer-Asmuds a modern village Godzhur arose [2] . After the deportation of Kalmyks in 1944, the village was included in the Astrakhan region .
In the late 1950s and early 1960s. After the restoration of Kalmyk autonomy, Kalmyks began to return from exile; in the 1970s, the Godzhurovsky state farm was created.

In the late 1980s, according to a topographic map of 1989, about 260 residents lived in the village [3] .
