Biography

Desimon’s father, Franz Desimon, came to Russia at the age of 16 from Trieste . Franz De Simon was accepted into the Russian service. In the track record of the young lieutenant it was said: “He can read and write a letter from the Russian, French and Italian; history and geography and part of mathematics knows. ” Franz Desimon was captured by Turkey; freed from captivity, he continued to serve in the Russian army. He was a teacher in the Page Corps in St. Petersburg. Died F. De-Simon in 1818 at the age of 45 years, leaving his children a hereditary nobility and a good name. He had four children: Alexander, George, Constantine and Andrew.

Andrei Desimon completed the course in the Imperial Page Corps , after which he was released on June 14 with the rank of ensign in the Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment. In 1828, Desimon was sent to the Caucasus Corps , in which he took part in the Russian-Turkish war . In 1830 he returned to the regiment, where he was promoted to second lieutenant . He participated in the suppression of the Polish uprising of 1830 . In contrast to the battle for the capture of the front line of the rebel forces in Warsaw, Desimon was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 4th degree with the inscription “For Bravery”. In 1832 he was awarded the title of lieutenant , in 1834 - the staff captain . In the same year he was appointed to the post of senior adjutant at the headquarters of a separate guard corps. On October 22, in 1837, Desimon, with the rank of staff captain, retired due to illness and in 1838 he was appointed an official for special assignments under the head of Georgia, General Golovin. In 1839, during an expedition to South Dagestan, Desimon was on the left flank of the Caucasian line , repeatedly showing "courage and discretion worthy of a military leader." In 1840, Desimon was promoted to the rank of college adviser , and in 1841 he was appointed director of the office of the chief manager of the Transcaucasian Territory [1] .

In 1842, Desimon became vice-governor of Georgia and Imereti. In 1846, he was promoted to state councilors and appointed to the post of director of the office of the governor of the Caucasus and a member of the council of the Main Directorate of the Transcaucasian Territory , as well as the head of the educational unit of the Transcaucasus. In 1850, Desimon received the rank of full state councilor . In 1857, for "tireless work for the good of the region," he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 1st degree. In 1859, Desimon became a member of the Council of the Viceroy of the Caucasus. In 1860 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 1st degree. In 1862, Desimon was promoted to the rank of Privy Councilor . In 1868, Desimon was a member of the main administration of the governor of the Caucasus, and in 1870 - a member of the petition commission on the Highest Name. The stay of Desimon in Transcaucasia was marked by a series of reforms carried out thanks to his initiative [1] . The rest of his life he spent on his estate in the valley of the river. Matsesta. Interesting Facts
