Biography
The early medieval history of Carcassonne is rather poorly covered in modern events in historical sources . Including, the exact sequence of the heads of the Carcassonan diocese of this time is still unknown [1] .
Nothing is known about the origin and time of the occupation of the chair of Carcassonne by Bishop Senior. The previous head of the diocese, whose name is recorded in the sources, was the Hiscion , who died, possibly in 798. Although the Señor is not mentioned in the medieval lists of Carcassonne bishops, his occupation of the local pulpit is confirmed by the donation charter of October 14, 813, in which presbyter Ruderic transferred the villa belonging to him to the abbot of the monastery of Saint-Marie de Lagras Attale. As one of the witnesses of giving in the document, Bishop Senor is also named [2] .
The date of the death of Bishop Senor is unknown. For a long time it was assumed that the next head of the Diocese of Carcassonne, known from sources, was Livulha, whose bishopric was dated 850 years [3] . However, it was then established that a document calling Livouille a bishop was a later fake. Currently, the assumption is considered the most probable, according to which, following Senor, the bishop of Carcassonne, mentioned in reliable historical sources, was Er , a member of the church council in in 860 [4] .
