When the standard was adopted by CEN / ISSS , WOSA / XFS changed its name to simply XFS. However, now it is usually called CEN / XFS.

XFS Middleware

While the main advantage of XFS is the portability of code between devices, different hardware vendors often come across different interpretations of the XFS standard itself. The result of these differences in interpretation means that applications typically use middleware to even out differences between implementations of XFS platforms.

Well-known XFS middleware platforms include:

  • Nautilus Hyosung - Nextware
  • Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions ATOM
  • Diebold agilis power
  • NCR Corporation Aptra Edge
  • KAL - KAL Kalignite
  • Cashware - XFS Service Providers
  • Phoenix Interactive VISTAatm
  • Wincor Nixdorf ProBase (ProBase C as WOSA / XFS platform - ProBase J as J / XFS platform)
  • SBS Software KIXFS / Terminal Control
  • Dynasty Technology Group - (JSI) Jam Service Interface
  • HST Systems & Technologies - HAL Interface
  • FreeXFS - Open source XFS platform

XFS Testing Tools (Emulators)

XFS Testing Tools allow you to test XFS application tier software and middle tier software on simulated hardware. Some tools include sophisticated automated regression testing capabilities. Key XFS Testing Providers:

  • Level Four Software Ltd, BRIDGE: test
  • KAL KAL Kalignite Test Utilities
  • Lexcel TestSystem ATM - Open Architecture
  • Dynasty Technology Group - JSI Simulators
  • HST Systems & Technologies (Brazil)
  • Software Industries Ltd, XFS Explorer
  • LUTZWOLF JDST - Testtool for J / XFS compatibility
