Saint Dolphin was the first historically reliable bishop of Bordeaux, and it was he who converted St. Pauline of Nolan to Christianity. He participated in the work of the synod in Zaragozse in 380 , on which the Priscillian heresy was condemned. Saint Dolphin communicated with Saint Ambrose , Bishop of Mediolana .
Saint Amand became the successor of Dolphin in the department of Bordeaux .
