Carmela Corren ( Hebrew כרמלה קורן , German: Carmela Corren ; nee Carmela Bitsman ; born February 13, 1938 in Tel Aviv ) is an Austrian singer and actress [1] of Jewish descent, a representative of Austria at the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest .

Biography
Carmela Corren (née Bitsman) was born in 1938 in Tel Aviv . Since childhood, she dreamed of dancing, but because of the trauma she suffered, she had to give up dancing and switch to musical activity.
In 1956, at one of the performances in Jerusalem, she was noticed by American producer Ed Sullivan . Having barely finished military service in the Israeli army, she went on tour with the Sullivan in the United States . At the beginning of her career, she met Cliff Richard , with whom she participated in several tours and performed in nightclubs. Since 1960 she moved to Austria, becoming a popular performer in German-speaking countries. Later she signed contracts with record labels Ariola, Vogue and Decca. [2]
In 1963, she represented Austria at the Eurovision song contest with the song "Vielleicht geschieht ein Wunder" , and took seventh place. [3]
From 1966 to 1970 she was married to producer Horst Geiger, from whom she gave birth to a son and daughter.
Currently lives in the US state of Florida .
