History

Initially, the team was called Avalanche , but in May 2009 the group was forced to change its name in order to avoid copyright issues [2] . Under the new name, the group debuted with the release of their first demo album, Leave Everything Behind , in 2009.

In the summer of 2010, the band entered into an agreement with Spinefarm Records to release their debut album. Before the release of the debut album, the single Hunger was released, on which the group, together with director Patrick Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company, made a video clip.

The band's debut album, Amaranthe, was released in April 2011. The second video clip of the group was shot for Amaranthine from this album.

After a successful debut album, the group released a single entitled Rain , and also prepared a special version of the Amaranthe album, which included two bonus tracks, video clips, as well as video from performances and video diaries of the album. The group also released another single - Amaranthine , recording an acoustic version of the song of the same name.

Vocalist Elise Ryud took part in the European tour of Kamelot in the summer of 2010, and also in January 2012, together with the Dreamstate project, recorded the song Evolution .

In August 2012, it became known that the group plans in early 2013 to release their second album. The recording of the new album began on September 24, 2012.

The new album The Nexus was released March 13 in Japan, from March 20-25 in Europe, and March 26 in the United States . Video clips from The Nexus and Burn with Me were released for songs from this album.

On November 26, 2013, a video for the single Invincible was also released.

In the spring of 2014, the recording of the new Massive Addictive album began, and on October 21 its world release took place.

Their fourth album, Maximalism, was released on October 21, 2016.

On February 9, 2017, Jake E. Lundberg announced his departure from the group.
