The current flag was approved on July 11, 1999 [3] and entered in the State Heraldry Register of the Russian Federation under the number 152 [4] .
July 11 - Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Ingushetia. It is a holiday of Ingushetia, established by the Decree of the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia on September 11, 2014 [5] .

1999 Flag
Description
“The national flag of the Republic of Ingushetia is a rectangular panel of white color, in the center of which there is a solar sign in the form of a red circle with three rays extending from it, each of which ends with an incomplete circle. The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is 2: 3.
There are two green stripes along the entire length of the upper and lower parts of the flag, each of which is one sixth of the width of the flag. The radius of the inner circle of the solar sign is one-eleventh of the width of the flag. The radius of the incomplete circle at the end of the rays of the solar sign is one twenty-fifth of the width of the flag. The width of the strip forming the circle of the solar sign is one-eleventh of the width of the flag. The width of the beam of the rays of the solar sign is one twentieth of the width of the flag.
One of the rays of the solar sign is located vertically with respect to the length of the flag and is located in the upper part of the State flag of the Republic of Ingushetia. The distance between the upper point of the incomplete circle at the end of the rays and the outer circle of the solar sign is one-ninth of the width of the flag. The rays are evenly spaced around the entire circumference of the solar sign and are directed counterclockwise. ”
The Ingush flag was developed and presented for the contest in 1993 by an initiative group for the preparation of national elections of the 1st President of the Ingush Republic, which later became an election commission. The author and developer of the flag is Professor Dakhkilgov Ibrahim Abdurakhmanovich [6] .
Justification of Symbols
White symbolizes the purity of thoughts and actions characteristic of the people of Ingushetia. Green - the awakening of nature, the abundance and fertility of the land of the republic, as well as the Islam professed by the Ingush . Red personifies their hard centuries-old struggle against injustice, for their survival and the right to live on the land of their ancestors in peace and harmony with neighboring peoples.
A solar sign means the eternal movement of the Sun and the Universe , interconnection, infinity, eternity of all things. The arcuate rays of the sign are rotated counterclockwise in the direction of the Earth's rotation around the Sun, and the Sun around its axis. In such a mark, the sign is a symbol of well-being, creation, endless development and prosperity of the people.
1994 Flag
Description
“The flag consists of horizontal stripes of white and green. In the center of the white strip, which is 4 times wider than the others, there is a red solar sign; the diameter of the inner circle of the solar sign is equal to one third of the width of the flag. The flag is twice its width.
Each of the three rays of the solar circle represents a semicircle, the inner radius of which is one eighteenth of the width of the flag. The width of the lines forming the solar sign is equal to 1/36 of the width of the flag. ”
